The sun sets on another day…
The day was cloudy and misty and seems to go on forever. At sunset fell there was beauty in the sky and for a brief flash pinks and reds dotted the horizon.
I got to see my plane again today. I say it’s my plane even though it’s not and I feel incredibly happy just to see this plane. It’s been around a long long time and as a child I thought it was the most fantastic thing that could ever be built. No I could not fly it, I’m far too large to even fit in the cockpit. Still the idea of going so fast you can outrun a missile just seems like the coolest thing in the world.
In the movie Spaceballs the ship goes plaid it is going so fast, for the SR-71 and it’s sister ships plaid is a good description. Even though this plane is not in use anymore, it still holds records, and will always hold a place in my heart.
Lots of people see planes and wonder about the plane and all sorts of other strange stuff but as I see planes like this one I think of my childhood and the dreams of going faster and making a difference in the world.
Is there anything from your childhood that still excites you today? Do you ever try to relive the passion that you once had for things like that?
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope your day was amazing. I hope you found passion in everything you did. Mostly I hope you realize how special you are everyday and even though you can’t go over 2,000 miles an hour, I hope you said whee just a little, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and what an airplane…
