The sun sets on another day…
The snow fell and the skies kept belching forth more snow, then more snow. I love snow because of its symmetry but it is also time to move on. Spring is coming soon and we will see the world change in a matter of weeks.
I was thinking about perfection today. For the most part I feel symmetry is overrated. It is an amazing concept that something can be near perfect, but the reality is imperfection is sometimes far more perfect than perfection.
I recently put out a post about the SR-71. I’m always amazed by that plane and it reminded me of my car. I have an older style sports car that is a little clunky at the moment but it has been my favorite car of all time. It is not perfect, neither was the SR-71. At slow speeds the car rattles a little and feels a little bumpy and it doesn’t seem to be very perfect. But as the speeds increase the car seems to change just like the plane did, and suddenly it is smooth and easy. Perhaps there is a perfection in no perfection and perhaps the perfection is there because everything looks good, but in the end it’s all just enjoyable.
How do you like things? Do you look for perfection or is it something else? In the end, what makes your decisions easier?
So where’s the sun sets on another day, I hope you enjoy every moment of every day whether it looks perfect to you or not. Keep pushing and making the world the best world it can be and along the way just look for perfection in you and find it always, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and maybe my car is perfect…
