The sun sets on another day…
There was a sunset out there, but I couldn’t see it. The rain may fall on the plain in Spain, but here the downpour was everywhere and made the world seem a little more soggy. Somewhere high above it was a beautiful sunset.
As sheets of rain fell across everywhere I could see I thought about all of the people and all of the problems that seem to be flowing around. As I drove through puddles that were six to eight inches deep and sprayed water across the road burying smaller cars and putting my windshield wipers into overdrive, I thought about how overwhelming the world could be. But is it?
Like the rain that I was watching, often everything just slides away and goes down a culvert and is never thought about again. It is here that I think people should focus. Take a deep breath. Realize the reality of what is before you. And although it may seem overwhelming right now, imagine how it will seem tomorrow.
When you think about it we face challenges everyday and by the next day they are often inconsequential. We face challenges, we overcome them, and they really aren’t as important as we thought. Pretty scary isn’t it.
Here we are, sitting in the darkness, holding only a spark. That spark can create a world. Don’t let people take your spark away. Don’t let situations take your spark away. Instead pay attention, work through it all, and define your day as the best day that it can be.
So as the sun sets on another day, the world is a better place because of you. You have the opportunity and ability to change things for the better always. Keep making the world the spectacular place it should be and enjoy every day that you can, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the rain…
