The sun sets on another day…
Oh sunset. I am sure there is a song that does justice to the sky tonight, but I do not have it in my mind right now. It was silent for a short time as the sky opened and embraced the west, and then was gone. I was stunned with awe.
I find small towns to be a little surreal.
Today I walked through the town that is close to us but not quite that close. A good breakfast was followed by walking through store after store seeing what amazement could be there. A homemade caramel covered marshmallow was a good treat to split that had just enough taste, but wasn’t too much to chew on after breakfast.
A visit to a local bookstore made me enjoy my moments, and as I wandered through the streets I could have been in any small town. This one was just special.
I wish everyone could have a small town close and realize the nature of small towns. I have been to the most of the biggest cities in the world and what is missing is the air of care that comes in a small town. Those that are there are not judging or hustling and bustling to get to the next place, but instead they will honestly stop and talk and make a difference with each thing that you do. I would like to think that we will someday be back to a world where everyone enjoys talking to each other and we all get a kick out of knowing we are different.
Encompass those values if you can. Be that person that cares about others not because of what they think but regardless of what they think. Find the good in everyone if you can, and if you can’t, walk away. Just don’t walk away mad. Make a difference and find peace, just like in many small towns, and make that peace yours.
So as the sun sets on another day, I won’t tell you which small town I was in for now. Instead it’s time for an adventure, find a small town and enjoy it. Make every day that special day that creates a difference in your life, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and yeehaw…
