The sun sets on another day…
It was cold at sunset, but the sky gave a hint of life, and the promise of tomorrow was a good way to end the day.
My day started out interesting today. People who know me will laugh because interesting could mean a lot of things to me, in this case you make up your mind.
Yesterday I got my car back and there may be nothing wrong with it, but it did have a major issue on the drive home over the weekend and I was concerned so I left for work a little early. As I left the driveway and started down my road, which is a private road, five deer ran across the road in front of me and it happened so rapidly that I was forced to pull into the grass and stop. I watched as they ran away only glancing back at me for a moment, and then I laughed and didn’t think anything of it.
Less than 30 seconds later, four turkeys ran out in front of me towards the end of our road forcing me to slam on the brakes and watch my laptop slide into the seat well. Okay, must be something in the air, I’m not too worried about it, I will get by.
Three miles later as I am approaching a bridge a 10-point buck runs out in front of a pack of vehicles stopping us all, runs across the bridge and dives into the lake. From the edge of the bridge I could see the splash in the air, and as the cars started moving again I could see the deer swimming away without a care in the world. That seemed a little worrisome.
There are lots of things in life that try to stop you, but you just can’t let them. Sometimes the best solution is to overcome everything in your path and just keep moving forward. Today I laughed and wondered if I should turn around, but I didn’t and I had a great day. Don’t let the world slow you down and when you get a chance, just keep swimming.
So as the sun sets on another day, I could have turned around but I didn’t and in the process I made my day a little better and changed the world a little more. Be that person that keeps going and find a way to your destination, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy your evening…
