The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was hidden by a blue grey sky, but the thought of it all was alluring and exciting. Somewhere high above, the world was a better place because of it all.
How many days?
You may be thinking the question is for what, but only you know that answer. Maybe we don’t even know. Behind us we have a certain number of days that make us who we are, and before us we have a certain number of days that will make us who we will be. We can measure easily what is behind us, but what is before us is very unknown.
When I first started writing 29,000 sunsets, even before it was a blog and i was updating HTML every day, I found that we aren’t ever sure of how many days we will get. It was with that in mind that I picked the number 29,000 because that represented the average lifespan in the United States. That number is fluid of course. In the end, every day is a gift and we have no number that we can count on.
Numerous books and movies tell us that no one can know when the end will come, and still we set aside the possibility that today maybe the last day. That is so depressing. Let’s flip it around.
Since every day is something special, why don’t we just make today special and as we do so make the day as fantastic as it can be. Today is your number and today we’re going to have a great day. Say it with me, today we are going to have a great day.
I hope you can say that, there are people that can’t easily but in reality we all have an opportunity to have amazing days, every day. Let’s make today the start of that.
So as the sun sets on another day, let’s make today wonderful. That’s fine fantastic ways to make the world a better place. Mostly, let’s find a way to make our days the best that they can be, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and let’s make the numbers work…
