The sun sets on another day…
The skies shimmered, and I smiled at the thought of the world under the golden sun.
I was watching a show with my grandson and saw a segment where the hero saved the villain even though the villain was trying to kill him. It was an intense scene and as he was momentarily considering his options, he pushed to do the right thing even though it was not returned.
In the crowd watching someone yelled, “be greater than the haters” and I smiled for a moment. (For those of you who read often, yes I do smile a lot)
It’s such a unique idea to lay before children, being greater than a hater is difficult for many people. Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we realized that saving someone who hates us or caring about them still is more than just a few words.
How often right now do we see people who hate? How often right now do we get overwhelmed by people who only live for hate and don’t necessarily understand that acceptance is an okay thing as well? Who are you? Are you a hater that just hates and doesn’t try to interact? Are you greater than a hater, and do you find a way to accept even the things you think are unacceptable?
For me, I’m going to keep trying to be good to everyone, and in doing so, I’m going to be greater than those who hate me and I will find a way to help them almost all the time. Of course there are exceptions, but I am hoping those are very few.
So as the sun sets on another day, let’s all be great and avoid the hate. Even if you do hate, find acceptance in others. Realize that you don’t know everything, and in the process find a way to be a better person, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and greater than hate…
