The sun sets on another day
It was warm today, probably warmer than it had been in a while. As I drove by found myself musing about the world and actually how warm the world was. Sometimes it’s just a little hot.
I have said over and over that we are not measured on how we handle the good days in our lives, we are instead measured by how we handle the bumps, humps, and excessive heat. It’s not that we can’t handle everything that comes at us, it’s just that sometimes we don’t consider how were affecting the world while we are dealing with other stuff.
It wasn’t long ago that I had someone call me in the middle of a very busy time. They had an issue, potentially a big issue, and they wanted that issue solved. It was well within my power to solve the issue, but I just didn’t have time. Unfortunately, they created a situation where I had to stop what I was doing in order to solve what they were doing.
Before you feel bad for me, the whole issue was partially because of me. I had not paid enough attention to this person, and what they needed was highly technical. It was also some thing only I had access to, and that of course is a problem.
Considering my rule of life in work is to create processes and information that makes my existence obsolete, I had failed. I should have eliminated this problem before it started. Now here I was dealing with an issue in a time that was highly inconvenient.
Here’s the fun part, if I would’ve communicated better, and if they would’ve communicated better, there would’ve been no issues. Unfortunately, neither of us communicated, and in the process of going through this conundrum and I, for one, walked away with mixed feelings in a situation that I shouldn’t have been in because of my own procrastination.
Ever run into a situation like this?
Ever consider the possibility that you should engage earlier and find the way to positive moments? Ever realize that you may be part of why you feel some way? Ever realize you are the only reason you do?
It’s funny, we often blame other for how we feel, but often it is our fault.
So as the sun sets on another day, when you find anger, look inside. Find your way further, make your life amazing, and in the process, change the world, at least yours, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and grrrr…
