Why miss another?

July 18, 2025July 21, 2025

It’s time…

I know, I know, who makes up this stuff. Oh wait, that’s me. Sunset today was once again beautiful and as I looked out upon the sky I smiled at the magnificent shards of light painting the sky with happy paint.

If you’ve been around a while, you’ve heard this before. Every once in a while I have to reiterate the idea behind 29000 sunsets.

I’ve also told this to many people that shows an events all over the country. 29,000 as a number represents the number of days the average person in the United States will be alive. It equates to about 79 and 3/4 years. My goal with this poor website and over 3,000 posts and 10 years worth of material is to ask people if they knew that today was day 28,999 and that tomorrow they would die, what would they do different?

It sounds kind of morbid but it’s not. The bigger question is why aren’t you doing it today? Why do we have to wait consistently until our time is almost gone to determine how we can approach a world that is full of possibilities?

I give further guidance through dozens of posts on the system, don’t whine about the past, don’t pine about the future, instead define yourself everyday.

It’s an easy message. Instead of looking backward and forward for more than help or guidance, why not focus on making today your best day ever? Why can’t we realize that from a strategic point of view there is no tomorrow. From a tactical point of view, there isn’t really a tomorrow either. Basically we can’t count on tomorrow.

No I’m not saying that we shouldn’t plan for tomorrow, I’m not saying that we shouldn’t have some foundations, but I am saying that each day that we set aside are wants and needs for something that may happen tomorrow, we rob ourselves. I cannot count the number of times that I have been at an event with all of the books that I have written and had someone say that they wrote a book. When I ask them why they hadn’t published, their statement is it is not finished and it’s only a few pages but they have the idea.

I also mentioned my father who worked constantly his entire life, left his well-paying job and bought a bed and breakfast, made the bed and breakfast work, and on a Sunday called me to tell me we had never done anything together and we would do something in the next several weeks. He died on Thursday only a few days after the call.

How many people forget that their dreams have value? How many people miss out on taking things further? I hope that that’s not you.

If you have 29,000 sunsets every single one of them is unique and beautiful and you have the opportunity to enjoy every single one of them. It is here that I focus and here that I think everyone should pay attention. Each day lost is just a loss but we have the opportunity to give ourselves positive and amazing possibilities if we only remember that our time is fleeting. Maybe we should do the time Warp as well.

I hope this all makes sense but mostly I hope that you’re enjoying your day and making today the best day that it can possibly be. There is no tomorrow and you have the possibility of making every sunset spectacular.

So as the sun sets on another day, it’s a good day. I’m enjoying everything I can. I will keep enjoying everything I can. In the end I will not go quietly but instead I will scream and shout and wrestle the life out of each and every day. I will find beauty where no one else sees that beauty and I will still enjoy the moments. I hope you’re right there with me, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and live hard…
