The sun sets on another day…
The sky was full of vultures as the sun set. Something I do not see often as they usually roost. I wondered if I should be worried as the sky split into shades of gray, but I enjoyed the hovering watchers, and then they were gone like the light that played on the horizon.
There are lots of rules in life. There are so many rules that keep us in place that have grown over the years. A rule for walking, talking, driving, working, not working, and many many more. There are rules imposed by people trauma by government, and even by ourselves.
My question is on the last one. What are the rules you impose upon yourself? What are the rules that guide you and make you feel the way you need to feel?
I think you’ll find that it’ll be a little tough. Many people impose rules upon themselves they don’t even know about. Many rules are forged by experience. I laugh about some of the movies or books that you see or read and the idea that someone will never “date a musician” or “believe a politician” but people set those rules for themselves because they have learned a particular action.
For my rule it is to find a way. It may not be the right way, it might not be the wrong way, it just is finding a way. Somewhere in the midst of all that is an answer that is a second rule flows into me about following my passion.
I have to admit that rule can get you into a lot of trouble. Following your passion can sometimes mean conflicting with other rules that may be very important. Following your passion may take you into dangerous situations or push you a different direction where the world is very different. For me it is worth it and it has been a very fulfilling life.
One moment after another, one day after another, I continue to find a way. One moment after another I have memories built on passion and excitement and those memories feel really good.
So As the sun sets on another day, back to my question, what are your rules? Think about it and find the ones that make you a better person and define your day every day trauma no matter what.
