The sun sets on another day…
Sunset. Well, I know it was beautiful and there somewhere, but it was high above the clouds as more snow fell, and more and more. Let’s just say it was a bit of snow.
I rewatched One Magic Christmas again today, along with several other movies. My sleep has been thin, and my thoughts keep coming to the spirit of Christmas, and all the versions of Dicken’s book, but also of other approaches to the same.
Loops and time travel usually don’t work very well in movies. For Christmas movies it’s even worse as there are multiple threads going on concurrently and multiple frustrations in the middle of everything. There are a lot of people that don’t like One Magic Christmas, but I think it has a lot of heart simply because it keeps the story relatively simple and makes the main character think about what they have to be thankful for.
In this story there isn’t the ridiculous level of self-awareness bought by strange situations, But the situations are strange and the awareness comes. I think what made this movie exciting for me was the realization that the wife loved the husband, “so much” and in that moment went a little further to make the world a better place. It’s a Christmas movie, I’m not giving it a rating, it’s just a fun watch at least once.
So as the sun sets on another day, every Christmas is magic if you look at it the right way. Keep finding your magic and make the world a special place, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and are bike shops still a thing…
