The sun sets on another day…
I thought it was going to be another great sunset, but all of a sudden here I was in the clouds. I appreciate the clowns and I appreciate the color that they bring, but these clouds pretty much just blocked out the horizon. Somewhere high above there was a really awesome sunset and I closed my eyes and imagined it for a while.
I was thinking a lot this weekend about relationships after reading a very short piece that defined love having giving someone your heart completely I’m trusting that they will take care of it. As I thought about this strange series of interconnecting crazy I also wondered about how people define themselves and how they define what they need out of love and out of relationships and out of that crazy dance that happened when two people really like each other. Once again this idea came up about trusting someone with your heart and I was reminded of a story that I published in “A Slice of Fear” that was based on a relationship I had years ago down to the house that the woman lived in. How do we protect our hearts and how are our hearts protected?
It’s tough when most of us don’t even know what makes us happy or only have a vague idea. It’s also tough when that vague idea changes consistently and as it does we end up more and more effectively sabotaging ourselves without good communication and without understanding how we can interact more effectively. Yuck, it sounds like it’s not even worth dealing with. It sounds like it would be difficult to deal with. Well, at least a challenge.
I’ve written about love and interactions in my poetry for years. My view on it all is ever evolving, but at the core of it is this need to understand how people love. I guess that’s the bigger question of it all. Is love a series of emotion banks where people become more and more attracted to each other based on the things that they like? Is love inherent in interaction? Is love something that is genetic or does something else like perhaps pheromones play a part in how we love? All of this is interesting as I consider what is at the core of all that is.
Well, I think that’s enough random thoughts for today as I don’t really feel this post was incredibly cohesive. Maybe, just maybe it will get you thinking and you’ll suddenly realize a magic bullet what explains how we love it comes up with some solution far more effective than I could. As for my thoughts, I will continue to consider how I can approach a world where communication may not be equivalent, and people call and define a word in different ways even better believe they have found the way. I know that for the most part I have not and that somewhere in the middle of it all there will be an answer that’s the question that maybe has not been asked the right way yet. We will see.
So as the sun sets on another day, what did you just read? What did I just write? What a strange series of thoughts but maybe I can think about it a little more and put them into something a little more cohesive as time goes on. Just time to evolve again, no matter what.
