Why miss another?

Nonsense I say…

The sun sets on another day…

It was cold, dark, and beautiful as the sun set. I walked into a speakeasy, and somewhere my taste buds saw the sunset I knew was high above!

Taste of Time

Tonight was the first time I had been to a Speakeasy in the area. A Speakeasy is supposed to be a step back in time that either serves food or drink and this reminiscent of prohibition style America. In the old days when alcohol was outlawed people we’d go to these places that were hidden inside of warehouses or buildings but offered no easy access to other people, like law enforcement. It was a way that people adapted to what they wanted at a time when no one cared.

The modern day translation was a Bar and Grill with some decent food, actually really good, but not necessarily the ambiance that I would expect. I had been to one other and it was behind the hidden door with a front restaurant and a back restaurant that were very separate and as you walked between the two it was as though you had shifted in time. Still, I walked away satiated and felt as though I got good value which is sometimes hard right now. Value can be everything.

If you see a Speakeasy floating around, take the initiative and go and at minimum let’s enjoy and enjoy some more. Capones in Muskegon had great food and a good atmosphere and I walked away feeling good about life.

So as the sun sets on another day, trying different things is what we should all strive for. Take the time to widen your perspective and make your day a tasty one, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and yummy…
