The sun sets on another day…
It was a stunning sunset and I looked to the western sky with open eyes. It probably should have made me blind because it was really bright but as I stared into the sky I felt good about the future, well, as good as I could.
Maybe that’s something that we need to do more often. Think well of where you are, as good as you can. If it’s not as tense as it should be work towards it but realize that the future is real and that you are as well.
I had a friend who is no more. She read 29,000 sunsets and would write to me from time to time. She once reached out to me and was completely distraught. She had taken the things that I put out there and decided that she was going to have a good thing of the day. She began putting small tidbits out that were her good things of the day. These weren’t huge and they weren’t prophetic. She didn’t take things from anyone else or try to plagiarize or use AI, she was just genuine.
This person’s short little statements on a social media site said things like good thing of the day, feeling the cat purr on my lap. Or good thing of the day, a short rainstorm in front of my window. They were positive things that she looked at as positive and I thought that was amazing.
What was the issue? Well people started writing to her, and what they told her was that she was wrong for being positive. What they told her was that nobody cared about the good things. What they told her was that nobody wanted to hear about why she was happy. What I told her was that was a load of poo poo in a brown paper bag. Well, I said it in stronger words.
Why are we so tied up in being negative? Why do we have to sit around and bring other people down so that we can feel somewhat up? Why not take a moment and share something good with someone else instead of trying negate everything around you.
My ask for everyone who reads 29,000 sunsets. Stop being that person who looks for the negative in everything. Stop being the person Who denies the positive And embraces the negative. Believe in good And not evil.
If you are that person who wants to bring everyone down, it’s time to reevaluate. Say something nice. Find something nice. Lift others up. And as you do set yourself up for a better day by me a better person.
For my friend, it is my opinion that she was taken advantage of by many of the people around her. They focused on the things around her that were negative and made her believe that she didn’t have the positives that she did. May she now rest happy knowing that those happy times were the best times of her life.
So as the sun sets on another day, don’t be a nego. Instead be a positive power and find common ground with people that make the world a better place. You are special and you deserve to be positive each and every day, no matter what.
