The sun sets on another day…
Sun. A small word that is pretty bright. (Well, the thing it represents is pretty bright.)
I often find myself in a carefully constructed quandary. People are polite and prudent but not as productive as they could be. People pass and are pleasant and give verbal variants of values and more with much verbosity.
Yuck.
I dated a girl a long time ago (In a galaxy far far away) that always used to tell me “Say what you mean, mean what you say, and if you mean it, say it”. Now she was also the one who said, “If you were sorry you wouldn’t have done it” so I am not sure I can count her as an authority, but she was right in the center of the issue. You should say what you mean, and mean what you say. Words can be powerful and exciting, they can carry us to new heights, or, if weaponized, can rend us as effectively as and knife. So we should be very careful with all we say and do.
So who cares, right? Well, we should all care as our world is full of such carefully constructed language that the truth is sometimes lost in a miasmic shroud of consonants and vowels.
When the sun sets sometimes things are hidden, but light brings out the truth, always. Maybe it is time for truth. Happiness and love, and kindness, and respect have to be more than just words.
So as the sun sets on another day, don’t get lost in the moment. Don’t get lost in the series of ever changing colloquialisms, but instead, speak what you feel and who you are with people. Be forward, and happy, and be the person you should be. Try to follow a higher road, and enjoy communicating with others, telling them how you feel, and making the world a better place, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, don’t let the bedbugs bite, and love to the moon and back, and the stars beyond…
