The sun sets on another day…
I am really adamant about not being so caught up in the past or future that you miss the present. I am certain that whining about the past or pining about a future does not give anything but a mediocre present. I do feel, however, that memories are what bring out the best in us, and some memories are the things that give us peace in our day.
So what’s that mean (Imagine in being said like the end of so many TV show credits) It means make sure you don’t forget about your past along the way, and if possible, focus on the good stuff.
I had a weird childhood full of some things that would curl peoples toes, but I don’t let on about it, instead I look for the positives in every day. (I pause here as you state something like “well good for you”) I am not saying that for any other reason than perspective. You choose the good, and choose to set aside the bad. A hundred bad sunsets can be overcome by a single great sunset if you let it. Bad days can be overcome by the positives of those days if you focus on that.
I know, I am sure some people are reaching for exceptions, and sure, there are some really bad things that happen in life, but we can’t get lost in those, instead, look at a special day in a park, a wonderful dinner, a conversation with a friend, or someone who could be a friend, a picture of positive can be created in your mind forever. Don’t forget the bad stuff, but don’t let it be the focus of your life. Hang on to the good stuff, because it may help make you a better person.
So as the sun sets on another day, wow, there are a lot of good memories in life. In those we have the potential for more than just a great day, but a great life if we only allow it. Hang on to the good, and make your day the best day it can be, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and have a memorable day…
