The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was wonderful, and I looked out to the sky and was at peace for a moment, knowing I shared the sunset with so many.
I read a book today that was an interesting vision of the world. The books was set in the early 1900s to close to the present and showed a series of events that defined a life. I enjoyed the process but was amazed at the depth of feeling, and the things the characters were put through to make them whole. As I considered the book I thought about all the lives that have intersected with mine over the years and realized the book was more real than I had considered. Every person has a story, and some people must face many trials in their lives. (I will review the book on Sunday as usual).
So here I sit, wondering about all the people in my past for a few minutes and considering the life and death struggles each have faced. From the ones who faced little, to the ones who faced death and more.
All of this make me ask, what did you face to get where you are? No, you don’t have to answer, but think for a moment how many things you have gone through to achieve where you are today. There was a time I had some regrets, but I now realize it is the struggles and the pain that build you into the person you become more than the good time. It can be said even that the good times do not build us nearly as much as those negatives.
Think about it for a moment and I know this will be strange, but be thankful for what you have experienced, it made you who you are now.
So as the sun sets on another day, well, I would skip some of the things I went through, well, maybe. Still, I smile now as I think about it, then sit down and write some more, determined to make a difference each day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and read all you can…
