The sun sets on another day…
Ever look at a situation and see more? As the sun rises and the sun sets have you ever noticed how large it looks? It is near overwhelming how much space is taken up as you see the sun in relation to the earth, trees, homes, and other landmarks, but is it really a bigger deal? Is it really larger?
Not really, no. The illusion of a size difference is just do to the relation of the sun to objects we know. The sun stays the same and is minimally distorted, but to us it seems so much bigger.
Is the same true in life? When we see something from a perspective we feel is correct is it possible we are wrong and the issue just seems bigger because of our perspective? If we see something happen and “know” we are right, do we make things bigger than they actually are in reality?
Although I wish it were not true, I feel this happens all the time and we see things from a perspective that sometimes gets lost on us, and in the process, miss the reality of a situation. In doing so we can hurt people we do not mean to, or make poor decisions that affect us for a lifetime.
The only solution is to consider being a bit calmer and seeing life as it really is, not as we believe it to be and to look at things on a case by case basis, not compared to things we know. After all, if you have never done something, walked in someones shoes, or felt as they felt you have no point of reference, and perhaps no way to judge.
So as the sun sets on another day, consider where you are in life, and be sure you can understand another persons perspective before you make a judgement, or better yet, don’t judge at all, and just enjoy the moment.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy every second, big or small…
