The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was, well, I am not sure. It may have been awesome, but it may have been less than awesome. It was certainly cold and less than nice outside. The sky though was lit up as I drove home from a dinner.
I wish I could end all misunderstandings easily. It will not happen though. The world is full of people looking for glasses half full, half empty, all empty, 3/4 empty and a host of other statements built around the idea that “woe is me” for a moment.
Here is the reality. Your glass is always full.
Really? It is not, I don’t have everything I want today. I want more. I have not gotten what I need today. I need more. We hear that a lot huh?
People who say that are of course right. We can only handle what we handle. Still, if we take a second and look at the world a little differently I think we will find that we fill our own glass to our own height. No one or nothing decides how full our glass is except us. With that in mind I can only say that on my darkest days my glass is as full as I let it be. How about you?
So as the sun sets on another day, maybe it is time for a bigger glass, or maybe we need to get rid of the glass. Maybe we just need to have our best day each day not because of the world, but in deference to the world. We can decide, and I hope you have the best day ever, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love with all your heart, and stop emptying your glass…
