The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was not quite as amazing as the last several days. The sky closed in and cold returned, but there is hope for warm weather shortly and a little less.
I sat back for just a moment and thought about today. It was warm then cold then nasty and then very rainy. The day was taken away but that was fine simply because it gave me time to think.
Don’t you think the world would be a little bit nicer if people stopped to think rather than constantly considering their narratives as correct and moving forward with a discussion that may not be correct. I would like to think it is a very splendid day when we can actually listen and then respond with understanding instead of conflict. After all it doesn’t take conflict to make the world better it takes an understanding of different points of view and an acceptance that you may not have the same view as others and that’s OK.
We seem to be lost in this idea that if someone doesn’t agree with us, we can wipe them out. Whether it is blocking them on social media of any type or blocking them in the real world the effect is the same. We believe that our opinion is so important that we have to eliminate any dissension.
Now I’m not saying that we should take a pummeling from someone who is just being mean. That’s a little different. What I am saying is if someone says something you don’t agree with and you block them, you are the problem unless they are disrespectful to you or others. This applies in the real world or the social media world.
I know, probably an unpopular opinion but one that should be considered. If you cannot embrace viewpoints other than yours then how can you grow? If you don’t care to grow, perhaps you should reconsider sharing an opinion.
So as the sun sets on another day, for me I tend to find that my opinion changes often based on facts and situations. in spite of engrained ideals there can be nothing but growth if you look to others and try to understand their points of view. Perhaps it is time for all of us to reconsider everything we know and find a way to communicate in an uncommunicative world full of over communicative people. Communicate well, and make the world yours, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and be splendid…
