The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was awesome and amazing and maybe a little more. I want to say that it was understated and perhaps even shibumi, but instead I will just play on the positives and how a cloudy day became a little more.
We all seem to have cloudy days from time to time and often it’s very hard to see past the clouds. Like the children in the Cat in the Hat we see a rainy day and instead of living our life we watch out the window expecting something and more.
As I drive to breakfast this morning in the nearby town of Ludington I expected the Misty Rain and cloudy day to close in on most people. When I am out on difficult days people just seem to be a little cloudier too. I tried to make people smile.
Imagine my surprise at breakfast to find someone who actually pays attention. Not someone who is paying attention for their own game but is paying attention to try to make the world just a little better. I exchange words with this person and they were quite eloquent as well as enchanting and the more that we spoke the more I was impressed.
It is rare to find people who actually listen. It is even rarer to find people who take something little and turn it into fantastic amazement. I walked away with a small gift and feeling good about the world. Every once in awhile when you meet someone it sets aside everything else and gives that one thing we all need, hope.
Here I sit, inspired by another, and wanting even more to make a difference. Hopefully to some of you I brighten your day if only a little.
So as the sun sets on another day, it’s the little things that may make a big impact. The big things are what everyone sees but something small enough to fit in your hand can make your day. Enjoy your moments and try to spread the happiness everywhere you go, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and thank you..
