The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was very well choregraphed by a shy full of fire and light, the cloud bank was nearly invisible until the last moment when it swallowed ever piece of light. It was stunning and stunning some more.
I think a lot about people. I like to interact with people. I’m usually misunderstood by people. Only a few people know me for who I am. Sometimes even people I’m close to make assumptions about how I approach the world. As I do so I watch people and learn from them.
It’s pretty amazing to consider the range of emotions that most people feel. I find myself always contemplating how people are good, how people are bad, and how people react to the world. It’s actually a little more complicated than that because good and bad are simply social constructs. What is good today may be bad tomorrow and vice versa but I always see how people approach the world and enjoy watching them react to unique situations.
I found myself today paying very close attention to one such situation and how it was playing out. It’s not that it was a good or bad situation it’s just that the situation was complex and the players involved were all trying to be polite. Sometimes polite isn’t good. Many times the truth is a better and easier series of words to get behind. In this particular case it had to do with how someone represented themselves and how they really were. In the world today that is very telling as people misrepresent themselves constantly. I would like to think that that’s not a big deal, but it is. We are often surrounded with things that are only partially true and this person was kind of caught in the middle of it. In the end it worked out and in the end I was happy with how it worked out. We found the truth and represented it properly, and as we moved forward the truth was the only thing that was important.
What do you find is important? Is it more important to be something you’re not or to be true? I have written many times about the masks that people wear, but do you find that mask that you wear to be a true mask or something a little different? Who are you? That should be the question that we all ask ourselves.
So as the sun sets on another day, it was a good day. Not because it was better or worse than any other day but because I believed it was going to be a good day and I made it a good day. Make your days great and be who you are because that’s pretty special. Find your way to a better day every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and who is that person…
