The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was cold and wet, again. Still, I was full of hope after positive discussions and amazing moments today.
I wanted to take just a minute and talk about 29,000 sunsets.
29,000 sunsets is a concept I created in 2010 to try to get people to open their eyes to possibilities. At that time in my life was facing a variety of challenges and realized how much focus I had on things that truly didn’t matter.
At the core of 29,000 sunsets is the idea that we define ourselves every day. We don’t define who we are and suddenly stay the same through all time but instead we are constantly evolving or devolving based on how we approach life. Additional foundations include the idea that we cannot whine about our past or pine about our future for neither have as large an effect on our lives as we truly think. Instead, we need to define ourselves in the moment and focus day by day.
Of course, we do want to learn from our past but not dwell on it. We want to consider the best pathways for our future but not get so lost in it that we lose today. It is this series of thoughts that I write about daily at the website 29000sunsets.com. It’s not that I think I am better or worse than anyone else it is just that I realized after facing death many times that planning or worrying do not buy me anything.
I have to repeat that, planning or worrying do not buy me anything and I found they never did.
Instead, if today was day 28999 for me and I knew that tomorrow would be my last day I would put the passion into this day as I try to in each and every day. After all, anything less is a waste of time. I hope you can join in with me, and laugh in the face of the end of all, and instead build your life one day at a time with passion and commitment to who you are, were, and will be.
This history lesson was just for you, by me, with an idea that you might enjoy it.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you enjoy 29000sunsets. I hope you share in a goal of enjoying life, and living forward. Mostly I hope you see a positive way forward every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and 29000 is a lot of days…
