The sun sets on another day…
I considered sunset a super sunset even though it was dim. I still enjoyed the light and the thought of the night to come.
It’s a new year and it’s very exciting. Well it will be a new year in just a few minutes. I sit here this evening thinking about all of the fFantastic things around us and all of the things that have happened this year. There was a lot.
On the writing front I published three books this year. The funny part is they are with three different genres. I consider that a success but there’s also a failure as I have two additional books that I should have finished and already published. I’m hoping to have them done in early 2024. I also reimagined the covers of the Masterson files series. I’m not sure if I like them perfectly, but I’m going to let them percolate for a short time.
I joined the Imaginative Storm many times this year and wrote some very nice pieces. I have found that as I do so, sometimes I write more poetry. That’s fine with me but I find I need to focus on my novels more and will do so in 2024, even though I plan on attending numerous Imaginative Storm sessions.
Early in the year I did a thing. Pages Promotions put on a mystery that rapidly took on a life of its own. After it did so, I found myself giggling and laughing with a group of very creative individuals. I spent a good time with that and I enjoyed every moment.
I went to a number of very good events this year and signed books a lot. At the front of my list was an event in Atlanta that was just fun and an event in Michigan that I got to walk in a parade with very talented authors. The low point of my year was the last Once Upon a book in Michigan which also turned out to be another event that will be stalled due to other reasons. Of course I had some great events at Barnes & Noble and with a variety of other locations including the Muskegon Art Fair and the Lakeside Emporium. All of those moments were fantastic.
For 29,000 Sunsets, I have a post for each day of the year. I have not been as diligent with Facebook since they changed the way the APIs work but I do get them on there eventually. I did not take as many pictures this year but I did try to make sure that there was a representative picture for each day. I had more negative posts that I discarded this year but I had far more positive ideas and positive ways work within my goals. In the end the good is what really matters. I released what made me happy and hopefully made a few of you happy.
I attended the Haley Sue Foundation ball this year along with several events. I miss my niece more than most people could understand but these events were very good if not better.
There is a lot more, but it will unravel as the year goes on in 2024.
So as the sun sets, take a moment and reflect. Enjoy your moments, and think about the positives in your life. I hope each day in 2024 makes your days better, and as you go through the moments, I hope life treats you better and better, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and Happy New Year!!!
