The sun rises, the sun sets, as each day gets better, the better it gets…
Fooled you.
For the few hundred users that rummage through this site each day I have a simple message, “Hi”. Ooops, perhaps the message is you should believe in yourself each and every day, for if you cannot believe in you, who can you believe in.
As the end of the TV show says, “What’s that mean” I will explain.
As we progress through our lives the one common element is you. There will be people that come and go, friends that are there, friends that fade. People that lift us higher, and those that take us lower. The one continuous constant is the essence of who we are in the middle of all of that “stuff”. I am well aware I have a plethora of self confidence, perhaps way too much. I have also been told I am far too nice to people, sometimes so much that they misunderstand. The truth is, I believe in myself every day and I am comfortable in my own skin. (Good thing too as it would fit most people like a loose hanging tent) I have a few things I feel people should consider saying to themselves each day.
- I am the best that I can be
- I will learn something new today
- I will be more tomorrow than I was today
- I will not fear
- I will not run
- I will embrace each day as if it is my one true goal, and in doing so, make a difference to the world.
- As the sun sets, I will count my successes, and be thankful for them
- As the sun sets I will look at my challenges, and determine how to overcome them
Now, I am sure this sounds like a load of bunk to some people. (I will not say words that are associated with Poo poo or similar just because they might stink) It really is not. Consider for a moment. If you say to yourself you are the best you can be, will you not strive to be the best? If you believe it, you can make it true. It may not be someone else’s best, but it is the best for you, what better can it be?
If you commit to learning at least one thing per day, doesn’t it make the world a better place. In fact, doesn’t it change the way you see the world each day and work backwards to making you the best you can be?
If you commit to learning once per day, and being the best you can be, will you not be more tomorrow? Won’t it help you grow each day until that final sunset?
If you do not fear will you not achieve more? Personally I think fear is the most wasteful but useful emotion of all. Wasteful because it keeps us from reaching who we could be. Useful because everything from politics to religion uses fear as their motivator. Discard fear and live for truth and love and in the process learn something new.
If you stand up for yourself and do not run, you take a step to overcoming fear, and in the process face new life, and in the process you may learn something new, and by doing that work towards being the best you can be!’
If you embrace every day and live it to the best you can, you will fill your life with happiness. Sometimes it may mean moving on when you don’t want to, or finding a new way, but in the end every day is a gift and it is up to us to stop bunking on it (See I avoided the poo poo again).
For all else we need a scorecard. At the end of the day, recount your success, and do not fail, but find ways to overcome challenge and instead of failure, find other ways. Sometimes those things we think are failures are everything but failure. Be true to yourself and then you can move on to understanding others.
As you love yourself, know yourself, and understand yourself you will truly begin to understand other people and truly understand love.
What is the point?
The point is that the other side of each of the above can keep you from being the wonderful person you are.
So as the sun sets on another day, believe in yourself as I believe in you (and you and you and you…ad infinitum) and love life, embrace each day, learn all you can, and throw fear away, do so and you will be that happy person you deserve, no matter what…
