Moons away…

The sun sets on another day…

As the sun sets it gives way to the moon

The silent thunder of its light flooding passively on us all

A sliver of hope to the night, and all within

Tonight as I drove the empty streets I saw the crescent moon on the horizon, slowly setting with sublime light. An orange hue impaled the water with the urgency of the moon’s departure and I smiled at how life does the same to us all.

The light of the moon is but a reflection of the sun and so we too are reflections of each other. The more we are different, the more we are the same as we cannot exist without each other, and vice versa. So as we run away from the light, we only become shadowy reflections of the light, and as we reach out we often find the light.

Perhaps this is not always true, there are those that need no one to exist, but in the end they do little more than exist. To be who we are meant to be we need to find the light, a person (or persons) in our life that makes us shine and helps us see who we can be, not necessarily who we are, or maybe exactly who we are, who knows.

The purpose of this crescent moon statement of life is alone is no place to be.

So as the moon sets on another day, find a person who you love to the moon and back, and go there with them, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the moon set too, it was fun!
