The sun sets on another day…
Albert Einstein once said “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” I think he was right but can take it a step further: “If you don’t explain it simply, maybe you need to see it from the other side.”
Why is it so difficult to communicate? Perhaps we just aren’t saying it simply enough, and maybe we don’t understand well enough or maybe we take things too far and don’t realize who we are talking to at the time. We need to make an effort to understand all aspects of a situation before we try to explain it, no matter how simple it may be. By the same token we need to understand who we are talking to, so they can understand and learn from us, or vice versa.
So as the sun sets on another day, let’s try to communicate more and more simply. Speak to the lowest common denominator, take the moment to make life better by speaking what you know but consider the audience, and in the end, just try to make people understand, no matter what. (and make them happy too)
Sleep sweet, and have a simple night…
