The sun sets on another day…
As the sun rises it begins a new day, and new excitement for the world as the amazing process of life converts sunlight to energy and we benefit in so many ways from it. As the sun sets the day ends, and throughout the day, a million million plants and animals have been affected and touched by the process. The sun is never afraid, and never avoids the moment, it just is. (Yes, personification here, but you will get where I am going)
I wrote about a similar series of ideas here.
In my discussions today I came across a quote that states “Everybody dies”
I was reading through a series of items on the internet and saw a nice little video that I watched with some interest. (No it did not give me a virus)The video concerned how everyone dies, but the question was more important of how they lived. The video can be found here. I have heard my entire life from so many people about what they can’t do that it amazes me that we as a race can get anything done, but we do. We do because there are those people that do not see obstacles as problems, but they see them as a strategy, a challenge, and opportunity and even a wall, a wall that must be conquered and knocked down. In my opinion people should stop accepting their limitations and instead embrace the possibility of failure, and find their way to success.
I have failed many times. I have done things that are very good, and some that are not so good. I do not regret what I did, it was necessary for me to become who I am and you should not have regrets either, instead you should energize yourself towards a series of events that will offer you no need to consider what you had not done, because you lived to try all you could.
I have 2 friends that embody this. One had a dream to help people and try to spread happiness. Part of this dream was of a parade to have fun and help those in need. In spite of limitations, they decided to move forward with their dream. There was a lot to do, and this person is so busy that a one legged fire stomper would have been amazed at their work load and home life balance. Through it all they took things to a new level and created a parade that anyone would be proud of, and that will grow for years to become an institution built to help people.
Another friend is a budding entrepreneur. They were so tied up in work and so held down that they started their own marketing firm. That in itself is impressive, but this person also is engaged so they could be at home, with family and children and work to be the best for their family as well. They stepped up and made their dream a reality as well, more than just words.
Are these you? Are you the person who is a driving force in the world, trying to make the world a better place by experiencing everything, or are you the one bound by fear, watching as the world waltzes by you and hearing the music but being afraid to listen or dance to it.
We should all consider the quote by Hunter S. Thompson that says:
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!”
So as the sun sets on another day, what could you be doing, where is your passion, your dream, your life goal, and how can you get there. Set aside the limitations and find a way, find a way to make the world and yourself better, and live every moment for that moment, and beyond.
Sleep sweet, love life, and live it, no matter what…
