Expectations…

The sun sets on another day…

We all seem to have expectations in life. Expectations of friends, family, jobs, coworkers and so much more. Do these expectations work for us? Perhaps, but perhaps there is a better way. I had two discussions today with different people, both talking about loved ones, and in the conversations an opinion was reformed about how we manage our expectations. Does it really work to set high expectations of ourselves or of others? Is it more effective to have no expectations and enjoy the moments?

It is my opinion it is the latter. When we lose our expectations we have the ability to see people for who they are without pretense, and in the process, perhaps see them more fully for who they are, and not who you expect them to be. When dealing with love, perhaps it is far better to have no expectations, and be the best you can be, and perhaps they will reciprocate. (I hope so) The end result would be less disappointment, and more positive interactions.

So as the sun sets on another day, our expectations on life should be applied to us, and if we expect more of others, maybe, just maybe, they should be the ones setting those expectations. In the process, maybe our lives would be more positive and we would find a way to happiness, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and live it truthfully, each and every day…
