The sun sets on another day…
It is an amazing moment as the sun sets, awe inspiring terrifying, peaceful, forceful, understated and powerful all at the same time. It is also obviously predictable. Predictable from the point of view that as the sun rises, so shall it set, and nothing will stop it.
If we watch the world is often as predictable. I won’t say it is as predictable as the color of the bear walking by your window when your sitting in a room with an all southern view, but parts of life can be predictable, because we are part of the decision. After all, we sat in the room with the all southern view, we knew how to get there, and hopefully we knew what we were getting in to, right? Given that, we have some idea of what may happen.
In life sometimes we are surprised by outcomes that we knew were going to happen(An odd statement to be sure). We should not be surprised when we play with fire, we have a chance of being burned (old adage huh), when we play in traffic we may get hit, or when we sip rope in a minefield, well, you get the point. By the same token, perhaps we need to pay attention to a little bit larger picture. When we are nice to people, usually they are nice; when we help people they may help us; and when we are kind and loving we should expect such in return.
I know I know, it is a simple concept but one woven through our history, our religions, and just plain common sense.
So as the sun sets on another day, take a moment and consider how you approach life, and decide if you are creating a life you can predict by being the person you should be, or if you are in turmoil, waiting for the next shoe to drop. Perhaps your biggest adventure is planning your biggest adventure, and making it a reality. Remember if you journey to that room with the all southern view, that is a pretty big bear, so keep the windows closed.
Sleep sweet, love life, and be the best person you can be, no matter what…
