The sun sets on another day…
I think it is funny searching the internet for words sometimes. I was thinking about the sounds of this when I went ahead and searched to try to understand why in the heck anyone would ever say that about or to a cow. There were of course several origins and explanations for the saying, some scholarly and some silly, look it up. The one I liked was the idea that the brown cow was actually a beer cask and people we asking for beer. That was the one that actually made sense.
Sometimes we have to look deeper to understand what people are saying. Why in the world would anyone ever say “How now brown cow” or “See ya later alligator” if there was not some deeper meaning from long ago. At least “Busy as a bee” seems to make sense.
Maybe we need to listen to people and determine what they are saying before we make assumptions. Words can have so many meaning and people can interpret them so many ways that it often turns into a battle of trying to understand what can or cannot be easily understood. In the heat of the moment we can misinterpret and make bad choices, so instead, if you are going to misinterpret, make good choices. Right?
Take a moment, consider the positives, and consider the words you need to say. Also, take a moment and truly listen to what is being said to you, and take it to new level, and understand the people that you hear. In this world of text and email, a lot gets lost, but you can rise above it and find a way to be communicative, and happy. No matter what.
Sleep sweet, listen, and hear the words that I’m saying…
