A dog walked into a bar…

The sun sets on another day…

So, the sun is flying across the sky each and every day. Sometimes we need a laugh to go with the sunrises and sunsets so here is my “try” to you.

A dog walked into a bar. The dog walks up to the bartender and asks, “Do you have any jobs available?” the bartender is amazed and quickly says to the dog, “Wow, maybe you should try the circus?” The dog, with a toothy look of irritation glares square at the bartender and says, “Why would the circus need a bartender?”

I laugh at this joke for 2 reasons:

  1. I like the idea of a talking dog
  2. The bartender missed the point of everything that is going on. I mean, wow, talking dog comes in shouldn’t he have said “You’re hired, can I pay you in treats?” or a much better line. I mean he was giving away a goldmine in favor of a silly joke.

Sometimes in life we miss the greatest gifts that are sitting in front of us. Whether it is like the end of “Dumb and Dumber” or this silly joke we should always consider our options before opening our mouth and dismissing a potential big opportunity. Opportunity may only knock once, or maybe twice, but it is out there and we should latch on and “take the talking dog bartender” and have lots of fun and maybe make money instead of sending him somewhere else. Well, figuratively that works well.

So as the sun sets on another day opportunity is around us all the time. Our actions dictate how that opportunity may play out and how we are day to day. Are you the type of person that will hire the bartending dog or send him away. Are you the person who will see a wonderful future and make it happen, or push it away with words and actions. Be the person who lives with passion and makes a few good decisions about how to approach life, and find a way to happiness every day. Oh, and how would a bartending dog use a swizzle stick? I don’t know either.

Sleep sweet, smile when you can, and carpe canis!
