The sun sets on another day…
Well, the sunset is brilliant and majestic and amazing and beautiful, but not really “cute”. We seem to reserve that word for something that is not so over the top, but instead, just pretty much there.
Cute is all around us. Cute can make the world go round, and cute can be pointed and powerful, while subtly understated. Imagine the cute little puppy walking down the street that turns every head along the way. The little girl picking flowers in the garden for her mom, way past cute. Cute is a little item that can get us through the day. If we look for cute, it leads us to believe the day might not be as bad as you think.
When my children were young I used to adore the cute things they did daily. I have a video of my oldest, who is no longer a child, being absolutely cute and adorable. As a father I was beaming, and as I interacted with her cuteness I realized the stresses of work and other things were not so bad, cute can often do exactly what is necessary, it can save us.
So as the sun sets on another day, look for beauty, but look for “cute” as well. Enjoy the moments that cute comes your way, but if you are driving a boat, and look at the cute baby ducks, make sure you know what is in front of you! Enjoy the cuteness you have, and enjoy the moments that you can just be at peace, then reach out and reach for more and more, no matter what.
