The sun sets on another day…
As the sunset tonight crimson shades flooded the sky. Pink’s at blues and yellows mixed into a single light display that was both colorful and creative.
It is always fun to look up at the sky and see light shining by us. There are so many possible ways we can be illuminated by the power of the Sun. Why is it then that we are not Illuminating everyone with our light? Each of us has within the power to lift up and shine our light on others. We choose how to approach each encounter and in doing so we either lift someone up, take someone down, or do nothing for them.
For me this is a little disappointing. I have been told that I am far too friendly by many people but I would rather be remembered for lifting someone up and being friendly than be lost in trying to take someone down and being passive or unfriendly.
So how do you approach it? When you are feeling a little down do you attempt to drag others down or lift them on a pedestal and maybe ride higher with them? If you hear something negative do you repeat it or do you refute it? If a relationship has ended do you do your best to tear down the other person or do you try to lift them up so they can truly understand how you felt about them?
It’s my opinion that these are all good questions and of course there are hundreds more. We are faced with an opportunity just about every moment to lift someone up or tear them down. As we walk through life shouldn’t we be the ones trying to lift someone up? I know a lot of very terrific people that also have negativity bound to their souls. These people sometimes tell the truth but more often embellish it for a better story in order to make themselves look better. This is not good for them or for the people they talked about. Instead eventually it only makes everyone look at situations and question themselves. Basically, it complicates the world. Don’t complicate the world, let’s try to simplify it.
So as the sun sets on another day, find a pathway to lift up others. Find a way to explain to others how important they are to you. Realize those people that you loved so deeply you still love deeply in some way. At some point understand you must keep your glass half full and more each day. Take a moment and consider that people deserve to feel happy. Hold your tongue if what you want to say is not nice, and remember anything said may have a price. In the end be that person that rises above and shows what love, and life are all about, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, live life, and love to the moon and back and the stars beyond…
