The sun sets on another day…
The sunset came and laid color across the horizon, painting the world with golden hues. I watched in awe as the fiery globe passed from our day to somewhere beyond with the promise of coming again tomorrow from the east. The clouds hung in the sky only to be painted with the hues passing, then gone and fading into the night sky as silent wisps of white.
My first book is called Vengeful Son. The name has many meanings in the book which the reader finds out as the progress through the chapters. In the end, the name is about vengeance and how it really doesn’t give the answers or the solution that many seek. Vengeance is one of those wants that is never truly a need, and a want most people should avoid. In my book, the anti-hero, Michael shows others that vengeance is not a good path to take. So why do we?
I have to admit, I have felt that spirit latch on to me all to may times. People who treat you poorly even out of blind ignorance can quickly become a a target for some type of retribution, but it was said best in the movie “Hannie Caulder” staring Raquel Welch, “win or lose, you lose”. So it is, Win or lose, there is not positive outcome from vengeance, well, not usually.
As people wrong other people, they often run into issues of their own. Pushing for your own form of retribution just doesn’t work well. In fact, it doesn’t work at all. I suggest we just skip it and try to enjoy the life we have.
How about you? Have you ever created a good situation from a bad one? Has vengeance or causing someone pain worked out in your favor? How about we all try to be as nice as possible and just move forward. It does work.
So as the sun sets on another day, Vengeance is mine, or so the quote says. Perhaps that is because so few people understand the repercussions of vengeance. Maybe we should look out at the sun and enjoy our evening. Maybe just maybe, the day is so super today we can just make today the best day ever, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and keep moving forward…
