The sun sets on another day…
I’m sitting here tonight watching sun shine brightly through thick clouds. It looks like something out of an inspirational postcard. As I watch I am again astounded by all of the things that we can see with our amazing eyes.
Photography has been a passion of mine since I was very young. My grandmother bought mean a toy camera that actually could take film when she saw how fascinated I was with her camera. I found a way to get film for it and take pictures with it a short time later. At the time I was only 9 years old and started enjoying photography then
As I grew older I was fascinated with everything that the camera saw. The cameras that I used were sometimes less than perfect as I had little or no money. The pictures I took, when I can afford to have them developed, are something that I cherish even today. I currently have two huge boxes of older pictures and thousands of pictures of my children in trays. Over time I have also accumulated a huge amount of slide trays filled with slides that could be projected using a slide projector.
As digital photography appeared I was there and all in. The cameras were not all that good in the beginning. You could actually say the cameras were pretty horrible compared to the 35 millimeter camera I normally used. Still the ability to take multiple pictures without having to pay for processing was a definite appeal. As cameras continued to get better I continued to upgrade, no longer as constrained by cost, driven by what my eyes could see.
All things changed over time as I discovered when I opened my studio. I enjoyed a significant number of people and many exciting assignments. Taking pictures is a passion that I will not give up and I enjoy it every day some way or another.
It was a long way to get to this spot, but what is your passion? What is it that makes you excited when you do it? Is it painting or taking pictures or something completely different? There are so many passions we can have, there are so many passions worth experiencing.
So as the sun sets on another day I hope you find a way to enjoy your passion today. I hope you find few moments, hopefully a whole day, full of happiness. I hope every day is a journey through your passion no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and have lots of fun everyday…
