Springboard…

The sun sets on another day…

A cloudy day but a warm heart. Even when it shouldn’t be, a warm heart, warmed by a sunset even if I can’t see it.

I am always amazed at how pliant children are. Pliant from a sense that they can bounce back from anything. It doesn’t take much I suppose when you see the world through childlike eyes. Almost anything that comes at them can be set aside in an instant, and the world can be a happy place just moments later.

So why then does it get harder as so many get older. Is it truly so bad or have we missed that youthful springboard we used to have? I often think of the people I see in the world and how sometimes we just need to see things from a child’s eyes, if only for a moment, to forgive and move on to happier times.

Sounds easy huh? Maybe it is, maybe all we need to do is to be young at heart to take the world a little farther. Maybe we only need laugh a little and move on to find the happiness we deserve. It is a nice thought at least.

So as the sun sets on another day, I remember the movie Paternity, and how the main character talked about how a child could defy gravity until someone told him a bout it. Maybe all we need to do is forget that harshness that we have learned and approach the world with the innocence of a child. Maybe we can be young at heart for as long as we are here. Let’s do that and live life to the fullest every day, no mater what…

Sleep sweet, love life, and kick the can…
