Why miss another?

February 18, 2020

Far away but still here…

The sun sets on another day…

I drove today. I do a lot. I have driven a lot in my life. I did not think about it for a long time, but I can actually say I have driven well over a million miles, perhaps close to 2. It is just what I did for a long time, not bad, not good, just necessary.

Important people are sometimes far away. Many of them have been more important to me than I to them.  Distance is difficult, but at the core it can be a positive. You see who people are when you are far away, you see how to approach life in a much different manner when you are at a distance.

Of course close is good too. Close can be one of those things that makes us smile, and perhaps, along the way, can show us a new part of our life. Maybe distance allows thought, maybe distance allows a different type of appreciation, maybe distance is a way to the way. All I know for sure, is distance only changes the distance, but not the feelings we have inside. Communicate and be a part if you can, and make life as good as you can along the way. It is worth it.

So as the sun sets on another day, I drive, but in doing so I expand where I can go, and expand my horizons. Maybe it is a waste of time, or maybe it gives me a view of the world that is now smaller. Look for a smaller world where you are a part of more, and can be part of more, and along the way allow yourself to be touched by people. Be the change in the world to make a better world, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, drive straight, and find your way…
