The sun sets on another day…
A picture is worth a thousand words. Well, an advertising executive once said inferring that the cover will get people to buy more than content ore the book itself. Perhaps it is true, perhaps a good story is not as important as the cover that sells it. Perhaps the fame of a writer is more than the content of their book.
Then again, as sunset passes tonight and I am assailed by yet another fantastic West Michigan Sunset I can do nothing but think of the pure passion that is exuded from both pictures and words. A picture canĀ show you a sunset, but it cannot convey the feeling that washes over you when you see the sheer magnitude of the horizon. A picture can relate color and depth, but it cannot give you the breeze blowing across your face prickling every hair on your body as it caresses you with the twilight winds. A picture can give the movement of the ocean, but it cannot accurately describe the thundering roar of the surf, and the sheer power of wave after wave pounding rock and sand.
Yes, a picture may be worth a thousand words, but a thousand words can perhaps change a lifetime.
So as the sun sets on another day, consider well your words, and as you consider them, consider this sunset picture, and how many words it would take to let you visualize being there. It is a journey we seek, and in the picture and the words where we find it.
Sleep sweet, love life, and hold on…
