The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was amazing again, and as I watched it set in the western sky I felt at peace for a moment, perhaps two or three.
When I was a teenager Monty Python’s Flying Circus was all over KET and I giggled and laughed to a far more complex humor then most people in America saw. It’s true that lots of people like Monty Python and their movies but not as many people watch the show and could appreciate the complex silliness that was happening on several levels.
The writers and the team were presenting many things to us but there was always something underneath tickling your intellect and opening your mind to possibilities. It’s still funny to this day the number of times I am reminded of something as ridiculous as the Ministry of Silly Walks, the craziness of the Spanish Inquisition, and a giant Spiny Norman roaming the streets looking for Dinsdale.
I can’t sit here and say that everyone would like this type of humor but I can say that there are laughs to be found if you just look for them. Take a minute and remember that joke that always made you laugh, laugh a little, then laugh a little more because it was still funny.
So as the sun sets on another day, let’s all take a minute and just laugh. Let’s all take a minute and realize that being serious isn’t as important as remembering the things that are still funny. Well sometimes it is but still laugh a little inside, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and Dinsdale….
