The sun sets on another day…
Words. Hey, you are the one reading them, I am just writing them. Most people will say that opposable thumbs make us different and give us an advantage, maybe that was true, but now words seem to be the center of what makes us special. We use words more than anything else we have, to communicate our thoughts and even our emotions to others, and along the way, we use them, right and wrong, constantly.
I was thinking “Words can comfort, words can sting, words can do most anything, and as we walk unto the end, words will lift us with our friends.” As I did so I considered all the amazing things words have done for me. Then I considered the people around me, and it meant a little more.
Do you consider the weight of your words? More, do you consider the weight of your silence? How do you decode your words? Do you think in your own language?
Too many questions?
Let me just state one thing. Words are the thing we can cherish in the silence. The words of a friend, the kind words of a stranger, and just words in general give us purpose, and make us more than we could have been. Use your words well, and hold on to the words of others.
So as the sun sets on another day, tonight I held my words close and spoke to another author for some time. It was enlightening and as we spoke I was amazed at the world around me, and the wonderful gift that authors bring to us all. The next time you want words, consider having some fun with a book, and open your mind to more and more words. Make each day an amazing one, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the shenanigans…
