The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was fantastic, and I was lost in a few moments of introspection as the sun passed in the western sky.
Today I almost saw a moment of disaster. Almost.
Two cars were in front of me as I was driving a big truck, and both decided to swing into another lane that was already occupied, each others. What followed was a lot of jerking back and forth until both cars were back in their lanes, and unsure of what happened. Both slowed down, and both were obviously shaken. Neither saw each other.
Neither saw each other, neither was looking. They were in blind spots. They teach us always to be aware of our blind spots, but more so to be aware that there are always blind spots and to be wary.
We have blind spots in life too. We trust or don’t trust. We believe ourselves, or doubt ourselves, but all sorts of things get lost and we don’t see them coming until it is too late or at the last minute. At that point we swerve and hopefully right ourselves.
All I am suggesting is keep your eyes open, literally and figuratively, and watch for the next person.
So as the sun sets on another day, life is full of amazing twists and turns. Along the way we sometimes miss what’s coming at us. Know where your blind spots are, and think about them occasionally, it may help. Find a clear path, and make it as happy as you can, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and carry on…
