Last minutes…

The sun sets on another day…

Sunset tonight was, well, wet. A fantastic day led to rain, and the rain is scattered across the horizon making the world a little cleaner, one drop at a time.

Here I sit, waiting for sunset, and if it never comes then why did I wait at all? Perhaps it is because good things are worth waiting for, and great things are worth keeping. Man that sounds good. I think I will use it.

Over time we all have opinions that seem to pop up and build faster than rabbits in the wild. Still, we know in our life what is good, what is bad, and what is great. There is a lot of good in the world. There is also a lot of bad in the world, but great, it is right there is we just hold on to it.

I am reminded of a clip from the movie Holy Man. I wrote about it here but if you watch Holy Man there is a speech worth repeating. You are in the last minutes of your life and you are not afraid, instead you are thankful for all you have had, for family, for good friends, and in those moments you are at peace.

I am not saying everything is great and good that you have. I know people who should run screaming from where they are with a flamethrower burning the road behind them, but still there are things to be thankful for, and somewhere along the way we all have our greatness.

So as the sun sets on another day, welcome to another great eve. Not because it is any better than any other day (it may be) but instead because you are in it, and you can be as great as you want to be. In your last minutes will you finally realize how great you are, how about you realize it now and start living the way that will show you happiness, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and live well…
