The sun sets on another day…
I was driving home at sunset and the sun was falling below a cloud bank. The resulting sunset was stunning and I watched the best I could as I drove. When I found a place I could pull over it had gone but I still enjoyed the moment.
If you are following my reading the stack has grown and I finally will have some time to catch up. I am on track on my Goodreads challenge and expect to hit 300 books early, maybe in October.
Today was a series of bittersweet moments. I visited with my sister and some family for the memorial of my ex stepfather. He was a funny guy that touched a lot of people in positive way, and he made my sisters life as good as he could. As I spoke a little about him I realized there were many positives to remember and I tried to hold on to those.
Afterwards there was a small dinner held by some wonderful ladies. As I watched people I saw them go out of their way to make everything amazing and wonderful for everyone and I knew their fantastic passion was showing through. Each of them made a difference that day with magnificent meatloaf, and yum yum yummy macaroni and a lot more. I was thankful to these unsung heroes of the day and their goodness.
We all have an opportunity to make a difference for others if only a little. Whether it is a kind word or an act of kindness it does make others notice and we have the ability to do more and be more each day. What do you do? If you do, do you expect more or are you as these women, only wanting to serve and make everyone’s day a little better?
So as the sun sets on another day, consider well the world around you and your effect on it all. Reach out and make a difference when you can, and live each day for a passion that exceeds all others, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love with all your being, and be you…
