Processed reflection…

The sun sets on another day…

Sunset was cold, wet, sloppy, and slippery. The crisp rain cut through skin as the wind whipped it across the lakeshore. Mixed with sand, the wind became like a weapon of old, piercing the inner being of all who would dare its wrath. High above, the sun was shining, and the colors were unreal, but not for us today.

Ever find yourself considering the moments in your life that were amazing? OK, ever find yourself considering the moments that were less than amazing? Which one more? Why?

I have found over time that most people have an easier time processing negative. They worry about a lot that they could have done, and they worry a lot about the “what if” and the “I shoulda” and even consider the paths that are far less than positive even though life is positive.

Initially, I had a hard time with this type of cycle. I spent so much effort thinking about what I should have done that I stopped living. Then one day, I stopped and realized there was a flip side. It took a great deal of pain and suffering, but I realized there was no need for pain or suffering on my part. I began living each day for the best day I could, knowing I could not change yesterday or tomorrow; I could only operate in the now.

Some people do this and get lost in the idea that they can be self-serving. Skip that. I live each day for the best day I can, being the best person I can be. That is a little better. Easy rules. Look out for myself, look out for others, live positively, make a difference to at least one person a day besides me, wash, rinse, repeat.

I never put it like that, but I should spell it out, there are rules, but the most significant limitation is to be a good person. Shouldn’t that be easy? I know in our world today, it looks like a challenging task, but if we try, we can make each day an amazing day and each night a night of processed reflection to look at the positives and overcome the negatives.

Think about it, and enjoy your days in the best way you can.

So as the sun sets on another day, life is full of special moments. Make each moment a good memory if you can. Enjoy the things that you like and find a way to be the best person you can be. We all have good and bad days, but I really believe we can overcome most pitfalls if we try. Overcome, achieve, and believe in yourself, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and live well…
