The sun sets on another day…
At sunset I felt a certain sense of pride as I enjoyed the moments with volunteers, family, and friends and made the world at least a little better by helping a child smile.
It’s very possible if not probable that I and the rest of us made many children smile, in fact it is pretty much a sure thing that we made a large number of people smile but I am only focused on one at a time. I wasn’t really looking a global change of peoples hearts and minds but for a few perhaps we did make a big difference.
Two years ago our family was struck with tragedy as we lost my niece to a horrible accident. Somewhere in the midst of all of that the Haley Sue Foundation was born. Its purpose is to empower and inspire (see the site for details) and it achieves that purpose well. Today was the second year that we shared Christmas with a series of wonderful young guests and their parents. Our only goal was to show them a little positivity and maybe a little fun at Christmas. I would like to think we succeeded.
There is something spectacular about the gleam in the eye of a child when they realize that someone listened to them. It is even more spectacular when we share so much more and they realize just how special they are. Today is I laughed with children and adults alike I can only say that my heart is full.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you too can find amazing moments make your life complete. I hope you realize how special you are. Mostly I hope that each and every day we can all enjoy the moments together, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love with every fiber of who you are, and be you…
