The sun sets on another day…
I watched the sunset once and then set again as a fake sunset was projected on low hanging clouds. This time it became a Grecian urn and a mushroom cloud. As I watched it finally flattened out into a unique polygon and then was gone at least 8 minutes after actual sunset.
I have said many times that if something is too good to be true you should check it out a little more. Sometimes it is true and you’re thankful for whatever is happening. Earlier today I filled up my vehicle and My Rewards Card gave me a very large discount. That discount made the cost of my visit nearly insignificant. I laughed about this but had seen this discount before and avoided it thinking it was not real.
This all got me thinking, It is a simple question, Why? Why do we avoid believing something is real if it is “too good to be true”? Why is it easier to accept the horribleness of the world than the goodness? If a horrible disease begins attacking the world it is far easier to believe everyone will die than there will be a cure. If the Martians find our rover and launch an attack on us, it will be far easier to believe we will all be killed than to consider that the Martians will catch a cold and not survive.
Maybe it is time for a rewire. Maybe we need to consider grasping on to the good first. Not trying to discount it. Maybe we need to find a way out of our negative minded heads and instead of thinking “no” perhaps the answer is “yes”.
Consider it.
So as the sun sets on another day, think about how many times we have lost good things because we walked by. Take the extra. The next time a discount is offered, if it is a good discount, take it. The next time you find a penny, pick it up. Make good luck your constant companion, and find a way to be a flashlight to those you can, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and positive positive positive…
