I watched sunset through the trees and took a picture just because it was beautiful. I wish the world did more things just because.
Just Because
I found myself laughing at the snow, just because
I found myself giggling at the geese, just because
I found myself loving more deeply than ever, just because
I held on to time as though I couldn’t let go, just because
I found a break in the sky and held on to its beauty, just because
I avoided death yet another time, just because
I thought of old friends and reached out to many, just because
I learned something new and then something more, just because
I didn’t need a reason, it didn’t need to be right
it could be any season, and I will still always fight
I could have found another way, it could have been more real
but I found I needed more, with the power that I feel
so grab on to your bootstraps, just because
hold someone when they need it, just because
be there when someone needs you, just because
and find a way to make the world a better place, just because
So as the sun sets on another day, take a moment and believe in yourself. Not because I told you to believe in yourself or because of anything else other than the fact that you’re worth it. And if you ask me why, I will tell you, just because.
