The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was stunning. Simply stated the sky lit up like a painting lost in watercolor bliss. It was there, then gone, but still a fantastic series of moments.
I was thinking today about all the fun things that I like to do. It’s pretty considerable. I find myself exploring new possibilities quite often and looking at my existing hobbies along with dozens of other possibilities and permutations. The funny part is that I can have fun without anything. I have been told often that I am weird but whether it is singing to myself or sitting in a corner being generally goofy, i can have fun alone or with people with or without any external distractions.
Now for the odd rant: it feels to me like much of the world has become so involved in short attention span endorphin makers that they have forgotten to really have fun. What do I mean by that? It is easy to get sucked into short videos that have no beginning or end and are just a middle. It is easier to get sucked in to movement after movement that shows part of a situation but doesn’t necessarily play on anything but emotions. Somewhere in the gist of it all the idea of playing a game or going outside and doing something seems to be far less common.
I like to take pictures, and in doing so I can spend hours either alone or with a good friend enjoying the scene laid out before me and trying to capture something to make the day a little better. I find it to be fun. I don’t think holding my phone above me taking a video of the situation sounds like a ton of fun even though I have done it. I would rather live the experience and be there.
What about you? What is your funnest fun? How do you find your way in this world today? Do you watch movies? Do you play games? What is it that makes your day more fun?
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you have fun reading 29,000 sunsets. I hope you have fun with people. I hope you have fun alone. I hope you have people that bring out the best in you. I hope you bring out the best in other people. Mostly I hope you enjoy your days and have the funnest fun ever, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and laugh a lot…
