The sun sets on another day…
We chased Sunset as a rainbow formed in the east. The sky broke wide and sunlight shattered The Horizon. A moment later it was gone but the memory of the beauty remained.
After sunset we sat from the balcony and watched people walk by the downtown area where we were staying. People watching as a whole is an amazing adventure just about every time you do it. Back and forth a series of groups came and went, many of them made me smile and laugh. Others have me scratching my head and wondering what was going on in the world.
A particular person made me giggle and then perhaps understand. We could hear them from a ways off talking loudly on a cell phone about who knows what with interesting and colorful language that would be funny under almost any circumstances. With a great bit of suddenness this person started cussing up a storm and then broke into a hard run slapping their feet down constantly as they win. They screamed confidently that they were coming for whoever was on the other side of the phone and then screamed loudly, “do you see this speed?” We watched with anticipation as he reached his destination and put his phone away walking into an open restaurant. Nothing happened but the moment was pretty dern funny.
We laughed hard thinking about what we had just seen, but I also admired this young man’s confidence, even though he wasn’t really that fast. He did make a good bit of noise.
The moral of my story today is to be like this young man and be confident in yourself. Even if you’re not perfect you are perfect. It doesn’t make sense but it’s true, and you are the only you. When you do something go all out, and make sure the world sees you.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope everyone sees your speed and your competencies everyday. Remember that you are special and I hope the world laughs, cries, and cheers with you every moment, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and here we go…
